TAKE A LOOK AT THE CHANGES THAT COME INTO EFFECT FROM JULY 1ST 2023

The new regulation (EU)2019/1781 sets out the following changes for motors from the 1st July 2023

For the first time the IE4 energy efficiency rating will be mandatory for three-phase motors from 75 kW up to 200 kW power output that are new to the market whilst some single-phase motors will also be subject to efficiency regulations.

A minimum efficiency rating will be required of brake motors with external brakes from 0.12 kW to 1,000 kW power output effective from the 1st July 2023.

The range of motors rated for hazardous areas will also be extended in 2023 whilst Ex eb Increased safety motors will also be included within the scope of the regulations.

No new regulations are being introduced for variable speed drives in 2023.
